Dominick Salerno Jr. Obituary

Dominick Salerno Jr., passed away on May 16, 2026, in Holmdel, New Jersey, at the age of 77.

Born on November 27, 1948, in Jersey City, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Dominick and Margaret Salerno Sr. He was raised in Jersey City and carried the values of hard work, loyalty, and family with him throughout his life. Those who knew him will remember him as a funny, loving man whose greatest joy came from caring for the people he loved.

In 1973, he moved to Hazlet, New Jersey, where he began building a life with his wife, Sherry. Together they created a home filled with love, dedication, and family devotion. Sherry predeceased him, and their life together remained one of the great blessings of his years. He was deeply committed to his family and made their well-being the center of everything he did.

Dominick built a respected career with Prudential Insurance in Bayonne, New Jersey, where he served as District Manager. He was known not only for his leadership, but also for his remarkable success. Over the course of his career at Prudential, he was the number one salesman, a distinction that reflected his determination, professionalism, and strong work ethic. He took pride in his accomplishments and in the relationships he formed along the way.

Above all else, Dominick was a family man. His main focus was always taking care of his family, and he did so with unwavering love and commitment. He is survived by his children, Dominick Salerno III and his wife Melissa, Michael Salerno, and Dena Clark and her husband Chris. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Alexandra Clark, Samantha Salerno, Riley Salerno, and Christian Clark, who brought him great pride and happiness.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Anthony Salerno, Michael Salerno, John Salerno, and Joseph Salerno. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Louise Salerno, Pat Salerno, Ginny Salerno, and Carol Salerno, who were part of the extended family he cherished. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
