Diane Dorsi

Diane Dorsi, 60, of Aberdeen, New Jersey passed peacefully at her home on April 18, 2023 after a four year battle with Metastatic Breast Cancer. While her initial battle with breast cancer commenced in November, 2008, Diane lived cancer-free for eleven years until her Metastatic Breast Cancer diagnosis in April, 2019.

Diane was born on February 25, 1963 as the sixth of seven children to Frank and Corrine Dorsi. Diane was a loving, loyal, and selfless woman who loved the beach, enjoyed physical fitness, and adored her family and friends. Her strength and determination blessed her loved ones with more time to spend together and make memories. Growing up in Hazlet, Diane was a graduate of Raritan High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and co-captain of the varsity cheerleading squad. She went on to attend and graduate from Brookdale Community College with an Associate Degree in Applied Science.

Diane’s career started in July, 1981 at Prudential Property & Casualty Insurance Company, which subsequently became Plymouth Rock Assurance Company.  She initially worked part time at night and on Saturday mornings while attending college, and transitioned to full time after college graduation. Intelligent and dedicated, Diane held various positions within the Claims Department and had a successful, fulfilling career working her way up through the ranks to Claims Director. She retired in 2019, after almost 39 years of service, due to her illness. Diane often spoke about the many close friendships she established at Plymouth Rock, which continued even after her retirement, and the support of her former co-workers. For more than a year, not a day went by where she didn’t receive a card, phone call, email, text or delivery to let her know she was missed sorely and in their thoughts and prayers. This meant the world to her, and she saved every card— there are hundreds.

Diane was predeceased by her father Frank Dorsi in 1981 and older sister Patricia Trenet in 2010.  Diane is survived by her mother, Corrine Dorsi, four brothers Frank Dorsi, John Dorsi, Gary Dorsi, and Rich Dorsi, sister Cherie Quinn, and their spouses Larry Halpern, Sharon Dorsi, Donna Dorsi, Angela Dorsi, and John Quinn, as well as her many cherished nieces and nephews: Jacqueline and Walter Sanford, Serge Trenet, John, Jeena, Jane and Josephine Dorsi, Jenna Dorsi, Gary and Liz Dorsi, Danielle Dorsi, Michael and Arianna Dorsi, Anthony Dorsi, Gabriella Dorsi, Gianna Dorsi, Darlene and Kyle Borodunovich, Amanda and Sean Foley, Brianna Sanford,and Kaleah Williams.

In Diane's honor, on Saturday, April 29, 2023 there will be a reading presented by family members at 9:30AM and a Memorial Mass of Christain Burial will begin at 10:00 AM at St. Clement Roman Catholic Church, 172 Freneau Avenue, Matawan, NJ 07747.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mary’s Place, Ocean Grove, NJ or Susan G. Komen, with a request that the donation go toward research for Metastatic Breast Cancer in Loving memory of Diane.
