Denise was born and raised in Bayonne, NJ before moving to Middletown, NJ in 2003. In the late 1950’s she met the love of her life, Donald, and they were married in 1960. Donald and Denise shared nearly 64 years of marriage before Donald’s passing in early 2024. Their time together was a testament to mutual love, respect and kindness. Together, they raised the four of us, Donald Jr. (Beth), Gary (Renee’) Drew (Susan) and Darcy (Tim), providing a loving home and providing each of us what we needed to succeed in life.
Denise was the quintessential housewife and grandmother, always welcoming and warm. One of her greatest joys was family dinners and catching up on what was going on in the lives of her kids and grandkids.
Her grandchildren, Gary, Tim, Sophia, Logan, and Jordan were spoiled by their doting grandmother and the time they had with her was a blessing that they will hold dear. In addition to her children and grandchildren, Denise is survived by her sisters, Joan Fitzgerald and Geri Benedetto (Mike) and her brother, Daniel Dougherty (Kathy), as well as her sisters-in-law, Janet Schumacher (Jim) and Valerie Cottone.
While we mourn our loss, we think back with fondness and gratitude for the lifetime of memories and love we experienced and the life lessons we have taken from our parents.
