Denise Dockweiler, 72, of Toms River, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was born Denise Van Pelt on May 2, 1951, in Staten Island, New York. Together with her family she moved to Hazlet, New Jersey in 1977. On June 1, 2000, she married the love of her life, Albert “Al” Dockweiler Jr and together they moved to Middletown, New Jersey. In 2017 they settled in Toms River, New Jersey where they remain.
Denise retired after many dedicated years working for the Monmouth County Park System, Lincroft, New Jersey as a manager in the reservations department. She enjoyed her many trips to Atlantic City and shopping. Her greatest love and joy in life was spending time with her family. Denise will be remembered for being a “giver”. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Robert, and Lorraine (Zullo) Van Pelt. She is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Albert E. Dockweiler Jr, her children, Dina Rogers of Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, Stacey Restaino and her husband Anthony of Hazlet, step children, and Claudine Albano and her husband James of Staten Island, New York, Brian Cimler and his wife Alyson of East Windsor, New Jersey, her caring siblings, Sharon Shea Capozzi of Staten Island, Robert Van Pelt Jr., of Davenport, Florida, Jeffrey Van Pelt of Staten Island, New York, her adoring and cherished grandchildren, Morgan, Emily, Braden, Tyler, Madelyn, Jordan, and Anthony (The baby), as well as many nephews and nieces.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, May 8, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM and on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 727 Highway 36W, Union Beach, New Jersey 07735. In respect of Denise’s’ wishes she will be privately cremated.
