Constance "Connie" (Russell) Malinconico

Constance “Connie” Russell Malinconico was born on February 8th, 1938 in Matawan, New Jersey to the late George and Helen Russell. She slipped away peacefully on Monday, January 4th, 2021 at Bayshore Medical Center, Holmdel, New Jersey.

Connie was united in holy matrimony to Rosario “Ralph” Joseph Malinconico on December 24th, 1983. Together they raised their six children.

A life-long resident of Matawan, she graduated from the Matawan School System, then from Brookdale Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Holding the title of Program Coordinator, Connie worked 28 years for the State of New Jersey at Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital. She retired from the State of New Jersey in 1987. After, a short period, Connie returned to the work force for 15 years as Head Nurse at CPC Behavioral Healthcare.

Connie began her walk with the Lord at a very young age. At the age of 12, she was baptized at Second Baptist Church in Matawan, New Jersey. She became a Sunday School teacher and sang in the Junior Choir. Over the years, Connie served as President of the Senior Ushers and Treasurer of Women’s Ministry. She was Chairperson of the Culinary Ministry, Advisory Ministry, Constitutional/By-laws Ministry and Co-chairwoman of the Women’s Ministry. Connie was also a member of the Seacoast Ushers’ Union Inc.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph, two brothers William and Robert, sister Ann, daughter, Stacey and son-in-law Sonny. A devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt she leaves behind to celebrate her life, her loving children, Donald F. Parrish Jr. and his wife Cathy, Donna Parrish, Deborah Jackson, Danielle Malinconico and Jason Russell, son-in-law Eric Johnson, sisters, Gwendolyn Malinconico, Shirley Lee,  grandchildren Steven, Lamar, Matthew, Sean, Troy, Nikki, Sunni, Whitney, Jaysen, Justin, Alyssa, Anna, Eric, Michael, Aleeyah, Angelica and Aliana, 24 great grandchildren, her godchild Shelly Baptist, many nieces and nephews, a host of beloved friends and her dog Faith. 

Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A private service for family members only will be offered for Connie on Wednesday morning, January 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  If you wish to join virtually for Connie's service, you are invited to do so via Zoom from the convenience of your own home.
