Clarence Clayton Pratt, also known fondly as “Clay”, 93, of Lincroft passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, New Jersey. Clay was born in Plainfield, Connecticut. He resided in Staten Island, New York, later on in his married life, he moved to “Shadow Lake Village” in Red Bank, New Jersey and in 2014 to Lincroft, New Jersey. Clay married the love of his life, Norma Barry in January of 1956
Clay served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. Before his retirement, Clay worked as a Warehouseman for Merck Industries in Linden, New Jersey. Clay volunteered for over fifty years with the New Jersey Society for the Blind. He was also a devoted Knight with the Knights of Columbus, Council #6392, Father Michael McGivney. Clay was a very loving husband and a cherished uncle. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
Clay was predeceased by his parents, Myron and Pauline (Demski) Pratt, his beloved wife, Norma (Barry) Pratt in February of 2012, a cherished son, Michael Pratt in August of 2017, his dear siblings, John Dempski and Mary Dempski.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 from 9:45 to 10:30 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A prayer service will be offered at the funeral home during visitation hours. Interment will follow at Ocean View Cemetery, 3315 Amboy Road, Staten Island, New York, 10306..
