Charles L. Noble Sr., 73, of Union Beach, New Jersey, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at Bayshore Medical Center, Holmdel, New Jersey on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. Charlie was born on January 6, 1952, in Jersey City, New Jersey, where he lived until moving to Bayonne in 1974 and then in 1989 settled with his family in Laurence Harbor. After marrying his 2nd wife Ellen of 26 years, they moved to Union Beach, where they remained.
With much pride, he served his country honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Charlie retired in January 2012 from Conrail, where he worked on both the wrecking crew and eventually as a car inspector for 39.5 years. Charlie was a die-hard New York Yankees and Green Bay Packers fan. He enjoyed traveling the world with his wife Ellen and truly loved every minute of his retirement. Above all else Charlie cherished the time he spent with his grand-kids and was most proud of being called “Pop”.
Charlie was predeceased by his parents. Henry “Hoy” and Gabriella (Zielinski) Noble, along with six siblings. He is survived by his loving wife, Ellen Brotschol Noble, brother Joseph Horsfield and his wife Annette (Tink), his cherished children, Christie Leyh and her husband Jason of Suffolk, Virginia, Erica Brotschol of Laurence Harbor, Lindsey Ludwinski and her husband Dean of Holmdel, and Charles Noble Jr, of Helmetta, and his adoring grandchildren, Alexandria (Lexi) Leyh, Gavin Leyh, Joseph Ludwinski and Matthew Ludwinski as well as his faithful and trusted companion, his dog Midnight. Charlie was a devoted, son, brother, husband, uncle, father, pop and friend. He will be greatly missed, always loved and never forgotten.
