Catherine Joan (Fares) Nance

Catherine Joan Nance, 91, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at home surrounded by the love of her children.  Catherine was born in the Bronx, New York on April 27, 1933, to her parents, Arthur and Katherine (Brady) Fares.  She grew up in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Hazlet, New Jersey, where she remained to raise her family.  Catherine was a devoted communicant of Saint Benedict Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel, New Jersey.  Catherine enjoyed her work and retired from the State of New Jersey, where she worked as an office assistant in Marlboro.  She enjoyed spending time at the Hazlet Senior Center, Hazlet, New Jersey and loved being an avid reader.  

Catherine is predeceased by her adoring parents, Arthur and Katherine (Brady) Fares, a beloved son, Donald Nance and  caring sisters, Patricia Ryan, Joan Cosgrove, Geraldine Luby and Sally Breen. She is survived by her loving children, Douglas Nance of Manalapan, New Jersey, Lorraine Nance-Riccitelli and her husband Ronald of Barnegat, New Jersey and Carolyn Quinn-Nance of Hazlet, New Jersey, her dear sister, Jeanne Riccobono, her cherished grandchildren, Gabby, Brandon, Ron Jr., Brittany, Kelly, Brian, Daniel, Brett and Kevin and her treasured great grandchildren, Natalia, Dominic, Ron III, Hudson, Brady, Kaia, Jack and Kallie as well as extended family and friends.   Catherine was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt.  She will be greatly missed, always loved and never forgotten. 

In respect of Catherine’s wishes she will be privately cremated.  Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Saint Benedict Roman Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel, New Jersey   07733. Entombment will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery, 360 Broadway, Keyport, New Jersey   07735.
