Carol Kelly Obituary

Carol A. Kelly ,80, a person of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, at Bayshore Medical Center, in Holmdel, New Jersey. Born on August 31, 1945, in New York City, NY, Carol's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and faith. Carol spent time living in Jersey City, NJ and in 1974 along with her family, they moved to the Middletown, NJ area. It was in 1995 that she made her final move to Hazlet, New Jersey.  Carol met the love of her life, Robert J. Kelly when spending time in Atlantic Highlands, NJ. Carol and Robert began their beautiful union together when they wed in May of 1965.


She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Martha (Faust) Newsome, her beloved husband, Robert J. Kelly and her caring brothers, Robert Newsome and Joseph Newsome. She is survived by her loving children: Robert Kelly and his wife Peggy of Oxford, NJ, Joseph Kelly and his wife Gennine of Port Monmouth, NJ, Michelle Wagner and her husband Brian of Hazlet, NJ, and Nickie Malonda and her husband Jason of Middletown, NJ.  Carol also leaves behind her dear sister, Mary Jane Respol, and her husband Dennis of Keyport.  Carol's role as a grandmother was one of her greatest joys, and she adored and cherished her amazing grandchildren, Sarah, Justin, Jake, Megan, Sean, Madeline, Kelly, and Jayme. She will greatly missed, always loved and never forgotten. 

Carol's professional life was marked by her tenure as a dedicated sales associate at Professional Pharmacy in Red Bank, NJ, where she retired after several years of service. Her colleagues and customers alike will remember her for her thoughtful assistance and warm smile.

A devout Christian, Carol was a devoted communicant of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Union Beach, NJ. Her faith was a cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life's challenges and joys with grace and resilience.

Carol's interests were a reflection of her loving nature. She enjoyed cooking and crocheting, creating meals and crafts that brought comfort and joy to those around her. The beach held a special place in Carol's heart, and she cherished beach vacations, especially those spent with her wonderful family. Every moment with her loved ones was treasured, and the memories created during these times will be held dear by all who were fortunate enough to share in them.

Described by those who knew her as loving, thoughtful, and kind, Her gentle spirit and generous heart left an indelible mark on the lives of her family, friends, and community. Carol's unwavering commitment to her loved ones and her faith will continue to inspire those who were touched by her presence.

As we bid farewell to Carol A. Kelly, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a legacy of love that will endure forever. Her spirit, characterized by compassion and selflessness, will continue to guide us, and her memory will be a blessing to all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 7th, 2026, at Holy Family Roman Catholic, 727 Hwy 36, Union Beach, New Jersey   07735.
