Carmine Chiusano Obituary

Carmine V. Chiusano, 82, of Middletown, New Jersey passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. Carmine was born on November 14, 1941 in Manhattan, New York. He grew up in Brooklyn, New York. In grammar school, he met and became friends with Margaret Healy. They began dating in high school and he married Margaret, the love of his life, on May 9, 1965. They remained in Brooklyn until moving their family to Middletown, New Jersey in 1998. He served his country honorably in the United States Army National Guard during the Vietnam War. Carmine retired from Schwab Capital Markets, LLC, Jersey City, New Jersey where he worked as a Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer.

Wherever he was, Carmine surrounded himself with family. At his home in Brooklyn, his parents lived downstairs and his sister, RoseMarie, and her family, whom he adored, lived upstairs. When he relocated to New Jersey, all of his children relocated within a few miles of him. He and his wife built a suburban oasis, making their home the hub of all activity, where you could stop for a few minutes or a few days. All were welcome. He enjoyed swimming with his grandkids in the pool, feeding his fish in the koi pond, and entertaining family and friends.

Carmine was a man of great charity, a giver of gifts big and small. He enjoyed boating and fishing. He loved the Brooklyn Dodgers, the Mets, the Rangers and the Giants. He was well read, and had a keen interest in books about World War 2. He was a lover of music, particularly the music of his youth. Most of all, he enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren’s games and performances.  He was a regular at dance recitals, musicals and ball fields.

A natural leader, Carmine took great pride in his work. He valued the relationships he formed with his colleagues, many of whom viewed him as a mentor, an advocate and a friend. Carmine’s wisdom, intelligence and clarity of vision were sought by all in times of tribulation.

Carmine provided for his children and his grandchildren. He didn’t wait or withhold; he shared all he had with his family. But his biggest gift to his family was his unconditional love and support.

Carmine was predeceased by his beloved parents, Michael and Josephine (Orefice) Chiusano. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 59 years, Margaret Ann (Healy) Chiusano, his devoted children, Diane Chiusano Trimboli and her husband Gregory of Middletown, New Jersey, Michael Chiusano of Middletown, New Jersey, Laura Chiusano Dempsey and her husband Patrick of Middletown, New Jersey and Robert Chiusano and his wife Danielle also of Middletown, New Jersey, his cherished grandchildren, Michael, Joseph, Emma, Vincent, Grace, John, Emma, Patrick and Robert and his caring sister, RoseMarie Simmons of Bayville, New York. Carmine was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He will be greatly missed.
