Carlos S. Joao

Carlos S. Joao, 59, of Cliffwood Beach, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 14, 2023.  Carlos was born on April 4, 1964, in Pombal, Portugal.  As a young man, Carlos moved to Newark, New Jersey.  On January 16, 1999, Carlos and his beloved wife, Grace, were married and began their life together in Cliffwood Beach, where they raised their son, Bruno.  For many years, Carlos worked for Sanzari Construction in Elmwood Park, New Jersey.  Most of all, Carlos was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend to many.  He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

He was predeceased by his parents, Maria da Piedade Simoes and Amadeo Joao.  Carlos is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 24 years, Grace (Filipe) Joao, his loving son, Bruno F. Joao, and his dear siblings, Maria do Carmo Simoes, Irene da Piedade Joao, and Manuel Simoes Joao.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, May 18, 2023, from 5:00 to 9:00 PM and Friday morning, May 19, 2023, from 8:30 to 9:15 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday morning, May 19, 2023, at 10:00 AM at St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, 109 Laurence Parkway, Laurence Harbor, New Jersey 08879.  In respect of Carlos’ wishes, he will be privately cremated.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
