Bruno G. Salvatore, 64, of Matawan, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel. Bruno was born on July 19, 1957, in Newark, New Jersey, and has lived his entire life in Matawan. Bruno grew up in Matawan, and later in life remained in Matawan to raise his family, where he lived to present day. Before his retirement, Bruno worked for the New Jersey Turnpike Authority for over 30 years, retiring as Supervisor He was also the President of the Parkway Union, Local 194 I.F.P.T.E throughout the 1990’s. In addition to his work with the Turnpike Authority, Bruno owned and operated B.G. Salvatore Lawn Care where he worked alongside his brother Fabio for over 20 years. He was also a lover of Corvettes and Harley Davidson motorcycles. Most of all, Bruno was a loving father, brother, grandfather, cousin, uncle, and friend to many. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
He was predeceased by his parents, Bruno and Catherine (Labaron) Salvatore, his daughter Lauren’s mother, Debra Salvatore, and his long-time companion, Joan Bohrman. Bruno is survived by his beloved daughter, Lauren Brunda and her husband, Aaron, of Toms River, his dear siblings, Michael Salvatore and his wife, Josi, of Matawan, Marcella Hynes of Virginia, Debra Ryno and her husband, Raymond, of Forked River, and Fabio Salvatore and his wife, Sharon, of Matawan, his cherished grandchildren, Jack, Abigail, and Charlotte Brunda, and his treasured cousin and lunch-buddy, Alan Salvatore, along with many more loving cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Thursday, March 31, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A prayer service will be offered at the funeral home during the visitation hours. In respect of Bruno’s wishes, he will be privately cremated.
