Billy R. Shaw, 88, of Eatontown, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday October 30, 2021. Billy was born in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Olen E. Shaw and Bertha E. Lee on February 12, 1933. He joined the Army in 1948 retiring July 1, 1971, as Chief Warrant Officer. He proudly served his country in the Korean and Vietnam wars. Bill was awarded the Purple Heart, Silver Star, Bronze Star and numerous other medals and letters of appreciation during his 23 years as a dedicated soldier of the US Army. Bill worked at the Fort Monmouth Commissary as Produce Manager, retiring in 1993. On July 15, 1951, he married the love and light of his life, Grace Arlene MacCloud. They settled in Eatontown in 1968 and raised their three children.
He was predeceased by his son, Kenneth R. Shaw. He is survived by his beloved wife, Grace Arlene, his loving daughters, Virginia Foran and her husband, Edward and Vicky Smith and her husband, John, his cherished, grandchildren, Trysha, Ray, Molly, Tyler, Emma and Kelly, and his adored great grandchildren, Danyelle, Joseph, Makayla, Stevie, Anabelle, Sydney, Walker, Austin, Willow, and Norah, along with many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors. Billy was an avid golfer, a proud American and loved his BK visits, but being a husband, dad and “Pop” was his highest honor. Fly high with the angels Pop.
Arrangements were entrusted to Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. In respect of Billy’s wishes, he will be privately cremated. A memorial service for Billy will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Old First Methodist Church, 197 Locust Ave., West Long branch NJ 07764. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers and trees, donations can be made in Billy's Memory to the charity of your choosing.
