Barbara A. (Silcox) Johnson

Barbara A. Johnson, fondly known as Bobbie, 93, of Keyport, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 with her family by her side.  She was born Barbara Silcox on October 28, 1928 in Keyport, where she grew up.  Bobbie spent most of her life living in Keyport and the Bayshore Area of New Jersey.   She was a graduate of Keyport High School, a member of the Keyport High School Mother's Club, as well as one of the founding members of Keyport Indians Pop Warner Football.  Before her retirement, Bobbie worked as a receptionist for IFF in Hazlet for many years.  She was also a life-long parishioner of St. John's United Methodist Church in Keyport.  Most of all, Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

She was predeceased by her parents, Evart and Gladys (Birkbeck) Silcox, her beloved husband, Raymond Johnson, and her dear sister, Jean Cahill.  Barbara is survived by her loving children, Joan Kapushy DeCiantis of Las Vegas, Nevada, Steven Kapushy and his wife, Sharon, of Boiceville, New York, Jane McKeever and her husband, Gerry, of Hazlet, Judy Kapushy Anderson and her husband, Wally, of Union Beach, and Andrew Kapushy of Keyport, along with nine cherished grandchildren and five adored great grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM and 5:00 to 7:00 PM and Monday morning, November 15, 2021 from 10:00 to 10:45 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A prayer service will be offered at the funeral home on Monday morning, November 15, 2021 at 10:30 AM.  Interment will follow at Green Grove Cemetery, Green Grove Avenue, Keyport, New Jersey.  In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Bobbie to the Keyport High School Parent's Club would be greatly appreciated.  Please send donations to Keyport High School Parent's Club, attention Tracy Gunsauls, 615 Park Avenue, Union Beach, New Jersey 07735.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
