Audrey H. Rackett

Audrey H. Rackett, 85, of Carteret, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her daughter's home on Sunday, March 10, 2018.  She was born Audrey H. Martin on June 26, 1932 in Woodhaven (Queens), and grew up in St. Albans, New York.  On May 19, 1956, Audrey and her husband, Bruce, were married and began their lives together in Southold Long Island, before settling in Carteret, New Jersey to raise their family.  Later in life, Audrey obtained her Associates Degree in Nursing, and worked as a Registered Nurse for Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, for approximately 25 years before retiring.

She was predeceased by her parents, William and Helen (Skorpil) Martin, her beloved husband, Bruce Rackett, and her dear brother, William E. Martin.  Audrey is survived by her loving children, Cheryl L. Halpin and her partner, Michelle Fagan, of Cliffwood, Allison Craven and her husband, Edward, of Toms River, Jody Nicholson and her husband, Raymond, of Marlboro, Bruce Rackett and his wife, Melodi, of Long Branch, Stacey Keating and her husband, John, of Marlboro, Jamie Rackett and his wife, Michelle, of Aberdeen, Kip Rackett and his wife, Cheryl, of Monroe, Denny Rackett and his wife, Michele, of Jensen Beach, Florida, and Brett Racket and his wife, Robin, of Woodbridge.  She is also survived by her dear sister-in-law, Dorothy Martin, along with 24 cherished grandchildren, and 10 adored great grandchildren.  Audrey will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A Church Service will be offered on Wednesday afternoon, March 14, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church, Southold, New York.  A graveside service and interment will follow at East Marion Cemetery, 195 Cemetery Road, East Marion, New York 11939.  In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Audrey can be made to the Visiting Nurse's Association Hospice Program, www.vnahg.org/gifts-in-support-of-hospice, would be greatly appreciated. For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
