Antonio Petroccione, 87, of Manalapan, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Centra State Hospital in Freehold, New Jersey. Antonio was born on October 22, 1933 in Naples, Italy, where he was raised. In 1961, Antonio and his wife, Adua, immigrated to the United States, settling in Brooklyn, New York to raise their family. In 1995, they relocated to Old Bridge, New Jersey and 2013 they ultimately settled in Manalapan. Before Antonio's retirement, he worked as a custom tailor for Versace in Manhattan, New York for many years. In his spare time, Antonio loved making wine and his own home-made sauce and was a proud member of the Daughters of Italy. Antonio also made a small cameo appearance as a tailor in the movie "Analyze This", which was released in 1999 starring Robert De Niro and Billy Crystal. Most of all, Antonio was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather.
He was predeceased by his parents, Virginio and Maria Petroccione and his brothers, Michele and Giuseppe Petroccione. Antonio is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Adua (Giannuzzi) Petroccione, his loving daughters, Marilyn D'Amato and her husband, Tom, of Old Bridge, and Valentina Diekmann and her husband, Rich, of Holmdel, his dear brother, Renato Petroccione and his wife, Sophia, and his cherished grandchildren, Alexandra Diekmann, Daniel D'Amato, Nicholas Diekmann, Stephen D'Amato, Gabrielle D'Amato, and Michael Diekmann. Antonio will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Arrangements were entrusted to Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. In respect of his family's wishes, Antonio's services will be held privately. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for Antonio at St. Catharine Roman Catholic Church in Holmdel and he will be entombed at Marlboro Memorial Park Mausoleum.
