Antonia Pagetta Obituary

Antonia Theresa Pagetta, a loving, kind, and gentle woman, passed away on May 22, 2026, at Anchor Care in Hazlet, New Jersey, just days before her 84th birthday. Born on May 26, 1942, in Jersey City, New Jersey, she lived a life marked by devotion to her faith and family, quiet strength, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys that made each day meaningful.

Antonia was the beloved daughter of the late Anthony and Philomena (DeStefano) Fusco. She was also predeceased by her beloved stepmother, Mary Fusco, husband, Ettore C. Pagetta, and by her dear siblings, Rosalie Fusco and Joseph Fusco. She is survived by her loving children, Nicholas Pagetta and his wife Cynthia of Flagstaff, Arizona, Mary A. Dressler of Hazlet, and Joseph Pagetta and his wife Keri of Nashville, Tennessee, and her cherished grandchildren, John E. Dressler IV, Joseph A. Dressler, Seth Pagetta, Pinuccia Pagetta, and Elena Pagetta. She is also survived by her devoted brother, Vincent Fusco and his wife Theresa, along with many treasured cousins and extended family members who will forever hold her memory close.

A graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Hoboken, New Jersey, Antonia worked for a time as a personal secretary at JP Morgan in New York City before meeting her husband, Ettore, and marrying on May 1, 1966. They settled in Jersey City and started a family. While predominantly a homemaker, Antonia found meaningful work later in her career at a daycare facility and as a visiting social worker who cared for the sick in their homes. Around the time of Ettore’s death in 2007, Antonia moved to Nashville, Tennessee, before returning to New Jersey and settling in Hazlet in 2017.

Antonia carried herself with grace and humility throughout her life. She was known for her warm heart, gentle spirit, and her porcelain skin – the latter the envy of every woman she met. She found joy in the simple things in life. She loved music, taking delight in the classic vocal pop and rock of her youth, and enjoyed cooking. More than anything, and that includes ice cream, she adored being surrounded by her family, and those moments spent in their company were among her greatest blessings.

Though her passing leaves a deep sorrow, Antonia’s legacy lives on in the family she cherished and in the many lives she touched. Her children, grandchildren, brother, cousins, and extended family will carry forward the example of her loving nature and gentle strength. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered always.

In respect of Antonia’s wishes, she will be privately cremated.  Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 765 State Highway 36, Union Beach, New Jersey 07730.  Following her mass, Antonia’s cremated remains will be laid to rest with her beloved family at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, New Jersey.  Arrangements were entrusted to Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  For information, directions or to send condolences to Antonia’s family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
