Anthony Sellari

Anthony Sellari, 84, of Newark, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, New Jersey.  Anthony was born on August 10, 1933 in Newark, and grew up in the Iron-bound section.  As a young adult, Anthony met his wife, Angela, and began their courtship.  Shortly after meeting Angela, he was drafted by the United States Army and began his service on base.  One year into his service time with the Army, Anthony and Angela decided to marry.  They were married on June 22, 1957, and began their life together in Newark, after he was honorably discharged from the Army, where they remained to raise their family.  Approximately 2 months ago, they moved to Holmdel, New Jersey.  Before retirement, Anthony worked as a Plant Manager for Shipping and Receiving with Celanese Plastic/Polymer Corp. for many years.  He was also a volunteer little league coach for boys baseball, working with all age groups, as well as a Cub Scout Master/Troop Leader for Pack #109 in Newark.  In addition, Anthony enjoyed bowling in his spare time, reading the newspaper, and spending time with his loving family.  

He was predeceased by his parents, Domenic and Annunziata (Panza) Sellari, and his sister, Phyllis Margiotta.  Anthony is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 60 years, Angela (Nobile) Sellari, his loving sons, Domenick Sellari and his wife, Florence, of Lyndhurst, New Jersey, Alphonse Sellari and his wife, Dora, of Spring, Texas, his dear siblings, Joseph Sellari, Rose Liguori, and Salvatore Sellari, and his cherished grandchildren, Kristina, Domenick, and Julianna Sellari.  Anthony will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Monday morning, February 26, 2018 from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday morning, February 26, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733.  In respect of Anthony's wishes, he will be privately cremated.  In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Anthony to the American Liver Foundation, www.liverfoundation.org, or,  The Arthritis Foundation, www.arthritis.org, would be greatly appreciated.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
