Anna Power, 92, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, May 12, 2023. She was born Anna Crowe on March 25, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York, and shortly after moved to Newfoundland, Canada with her family where she was raised. At 17 years old, Anna returned to Brooklyn, New York, where she met her beloved husband, Edward. Anna and Edward were married and began their life together in Brooklyn, where they remained to raise their family. In 1999, they settled in Hazlet, New Jersey. Before Anna's retirement, she worked as a bookkeeper for Seamen's on Wall Street in Manhattan, New York, for many years. While living in Hazlet, Anna was a devout parishioner of St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church in Holmdel, where she was also a Eucharistic Minister and member of the 9 o'clockers. Anna also enjoyed bowling in her spare time. Most of all, Anna was a beloved and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. She was a strong woman that touched the lives of all who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
She was predeceased by her parents, John and Frances (Fitzgerald) Crowe, her devoted husband, Edward P. Power, her son-in-law, Joseph Dos Santos, her dear brothers, William Crowe, and Michael Crowe and his wife, Teresa, her sister-in-law, Teresa Crowe, and her brother-in-law, John Sweeney. Anna is survived by her loving children, Michael Power and his wife, Marianne, of Rahway, Joseph Power and his wife, Margaret "Peggy", of Staten Island, New York, Gary Power and his wife, Marion, of Rhode Island, Robert Power and his wife, Diane, of Old Bridge, Gerard Power and his husband, Michael Kerr of Keyport, New Jersey, and Maureen Lane and her husband, Vincent, of Hazlet. Anna also leaves behind her dear siblings, Dominic Crowe and his wife, Rosemary, Margaret Sweeney, and Joseph Crowe and his wife, Joan, along with 14 cherished grandchildren and 24 adored great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Tuesday morning, May 16, 2023 from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday morning, May 16, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07730. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 100 Chapel Hill Road, Middletown, New Jersey 07701.
