Angela Adamo, 90, of Middletown, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. She was born Angela Mendicino on July 31, 1933, in the small town of Nocera Terinese, Italy, within the province of Catanzaro, Calabria. Angela grew up in Nocera Terinese, where she met and married her beloved husband, Luigino Adamo. In 1957, Angela and Luigino immigrated to the United States. They first started in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, where they lived on her uncle’s farm for three months, before settling in Brooklyn, New York, where they remained to raise their family. In 1985, they moved to Middletown, New Jersey. While living in Brooklyn, Angela worked as a seamstress for the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, #89, before her retirement. Angela also enjoyed spending time with her family and working in her garden whenever possible. Most of all, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
She was predeceased by her parents, Antonio and Michelina (Ferlaino) Mendicino and her beloved husband, Luigino Adamo. Angela is survived by her loving sons, Anthony Adamo and his wife, Lorraine, of Middletown, Eugene Adamo and his wife, Barbara, of Middletown, and Nicola Adamo and his wife, Kim, of Holmdel, her cherished grandchildren, Diana, Phillip, Vincent, Melissa, Alexandra, Louis, Danielle, and Samantha, and her adored great grandchildren, Logan, Eleanor, Miles, Theo, and Parker.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, June 16, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Monday morning, June 17, 2024, from 8:30 to 9:15 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, June 17, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Mother of God Church, 19 Cherry Tree Farm Road, Middletown, New Jersey 07748. Entombment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 100 Chapel Hill Road, Middletown/Red Bank, New Jersey 07701.
