Allan J. Homan, 74, of Laurence Harbor, New Jersey, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, October 28, 2020. Allan was born on November 12, 1945 in New Brunswick, New Jersey and grew up in East Brunswick. On October 12, 1968, Allan and his wife, Mildred, were married and began their lives together. In 1974, they settled in Laurence Harbor, where they raised their family. Before his retirement, Allan worked as a film coating technician for Dupont Industries in Parlin. He was also a proud United States Army Veteran. In his spare time, Allan kept himself busy with various sporting activities and leagues. He was a member of the Union Beach American Legion, the South Amboy Dart League for over 50 years and was an avid bowler, participating in two bowling leagues out of Airport Plaza. He also played softball with the Middlesex County Seniors and enjoyed playing horseshoes. Allan was also an avid golfer.
He was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Madelyn (Ingerson) Homan and his sister-in-law, Joan Homan. Allan is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 52 years, Mildred (Scarano) Homan, his loving children, Scott A. Homan of State College, Pennsylvania, and Stephanie Colonna and her husband, Fabian, of Matawan, New Jersey, his dear siblings, Tom Homan and Karen Burlett, his brothers-in-law, Sonny Dybus, Angelo Scarano, Mike Farley and his wife Mary, and his cherished grandchildren, Julianna Colonna, Carolyn Homan, and Marcelo Colonna. Allan also leaves behind many adored nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He will be sadly missed and never forgotten.
In respect of Allan’s wishes, he will be privately cremated. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Sunday, November 1, 2020 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday morning, November 2, 2020 at 10:00 AM at St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, 109 Laurence Parkway, Laurence Harbor, New Jersey.
