Alexander J. Donadio, a cherished soul known for his loving nature, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Born on July 10, 1952, in Orange, New Jersey, Alexander's life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of family bonds.
Alexander had a special love for trains. An avid collector and rider, he filled his home with model trains and had a real-world thrill of boarding every chance he got to get one. His eyes always lit up watching videos of them.
The son of the late Frank and Gilda (Traettino) Donadio, Alexander grew up in a home filled with warmth and laughter. His parents instilled in him the values of kindness and compassion, which he carried with him throughout his life. Alexander was a beacon of light to all who knew him, and his presence was a source of comfort and joy.
He is lovingly remembered by his siblings: brother Albert Donadio and his wife Stephanie, sister Riva Higgins and her husband Timothy, and brother Frank Donadio and his wife Tammy. Alexander's role as an uncle was one he cherished deeply, and his nieces and nephews, Jessica, Jacqueline, Shana, Kaitlyn, Alexis, and Andrew, will hold dear the memories of their fun-loving and devoted uncle. The next generation of his family, his great-nieces and great-nephews Daren, Francesca, Gilliana, Warren, Arabella, and Eloise, will grow up hearing stories of his kindness and the love he had for his family. Alexander also leaves behind Nycole Mumford, his care giver who took good care of him for 16 years. She loved him as if he was her baby.
Alexander's life was one of service and affection. He approached each day with a heart full of love, and his actions reflected his caring nature. His legacy is one of love, a legacy that will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
As we say goodbye to Alexander, we celebrate the life of a man who was the embodiment of love. His spirit will forever be a guiding light for his family and friends. While we mourn his passing, we also take solace in knowing that his love will continue to embrace us even as he rests in peace. Alexander J. Donadio will be deeply missed, but the love he shared will remain eternal.
