Adelaide (Scarpa) Costello

Adelaide Costello, 94, of Jersey City, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, May 18, 2020 at Anchor Care Nursing Home in Halzet.  Adelaide was born on November 6, 1924 in Jersey City, New Jersey, where she grew up and remained to raise her family.  Before retirement, Adelaide worked as a Teacher's Aide for P.S. 31 in Jersey City.  She was predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Elenor (Salardi) Scarpa, her beloved and devoted husband, Joseph Costello and her dear brother.  Adelaide is survived by her loving sons, Joseph Costello and his wife, Lynn, James Costello and his wife, Irma, Frank Costello and his wife, Eilene, and Jack Costello, her cherished grandchildren, Jason Costello, Zena Wallace, Travis Costello, Catherine Magistrelli, Scott, Daniel, and Caroline Costello, along with 6 adored great grandchildren and her good friend, Iris McCort.  Adelaide will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., at 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. Due to the current COVID-19 health crisis, visitation and services will be held privately for the immediate family only.
