Vincent A Canzoneri

Vincent A. Canzoneri, 82, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, June 11, 2018, after a short illness.  Vincent, fondly known as "Vinny", was born on December 22, 1935 in Brooklyn, New York, where he was raised.  In 1960, Vinny met the love of his life, Carmela "Dolly" Santomarco.  They were married on April 30, 1960 and started their lives together in Brooklyn, until 1979, when they settled in Hazlet, New Jersey.  They recently celebrated 58 years of marriage together.  After serving our country in the United States Army, Vinny worked at Sabin Robbin Company in Edison, New Jersey, for many years before retirement.

Vinny had many interests and hobbies.  Some of his favorites included cooking, coin collecting, and traveling.  An avid fisherman, Vinny also enjoyed spending time on his boat and working with/repairing fishing reels.  His Italian heritage was very important to him and he was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus #3402, where he proudly volunteered for countless fundraising activities.  Vinny was also a member and past president of the Hazlet First Aid Squad, as well as a devout parishioner of St. Catherine of Laboure Church in North Middletown.

He was predeceased by his parents, Dominick and Jenny (Carlino) Canzoneri.  Vinny is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 58 years, Carmela "Dolly" Canzoneri, his dear brother, John Canzoneri and his wife, Theresa, of Brooklyn, New York, and his loving sister, Nancy Migone and her husband, Robert, of Florida.  He is also survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jeanette and John Giordano, his two cherished nephews, John Giordano and his wife, Catherine, and Angelo Giordano, as well as many more special nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends.  Vinny will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Friday morning, June 15, 2018 from 8:00 to 8:45 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday morning, June 15, 2018 at 9:30 AM at The Church of St. Catherine Laboure, 110 Bray Avenue, North Middletown, New Jersey 07748.  Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 360 Broadway, Keyport, New Jersey 07735.  In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Vinny to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org, would be greatly appreciated.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
