Thomas John Bennett

Thomas John Bennett, 29, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away in a tragic car accident on Tuesday, May 14, 2019.  Thomas was born on September 4, 1989 in Red Bank, New Jersey and has lived in Hazlet his entire life with his loving family.  He was a graduate of Raritan High School, class of 2008, where he lettered in Field and Track.  He was 1st Runner Up Mr. Raritan, 2017 and played a part in the production of “Pippin” at Raritan in his senior year.  He played baseball and basketball for Hazlet Rec.  Thomas enjoyed playing the guitar, he also loved video games and most of all, he adored his dogs.

He was predeceased by his adoring grandparents, Chester and Genevieve Bennett, and John and Janet Watson, his uncle and Godfather, Robert Bennett, and his aunt, Kristina Watson Raimondi.  Thomas is survived by his beloved parents, John Glen and Patty (Watson) Bennett, his loving siblings, Billy Bennett and Karry Bennett, both of Hazlet, New Jersey, and his cherished aunts and uncles, Mark and Shirley Bennett (also Thomas’ Godmother) of Hazlet, New Jersey, Ron Bennett and his long-term girlfriend Jodi Owen of Newburgh New York, Judy Watson of Cliffwood Beach, New Jersey, David Watson of Cliffwood Beach, New Jersey, John Raimondi of Cliffwood Beach, New Jersey and Bonnie and Al Poling of Stafford Township, New Jersey, along with many dear cousins, extended family and friends.  Thomas will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday morning, May 18, 2019 from 10:00 to 10:45 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A prayer service will be offered at the funeral home on Saturday morning at approximately 10:15 AM.  Interment will follow at Fair View Cemetery, 420 State Highway 35, Middletown, New Jersey 07701.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
