Sofia (Kourkouzi) Archoleka

Sofia Archoleka, 77, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday morning, March 28, 2018 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge, New Jersey.  She was born Sofia Kourkouzi in Athens, Greece, where she grew up.  After marrying her husband, George, they remained in Greece to raise their family and in 1991, Sofia settled in Hazlet, New Jersey with her daughter, Renee.  

She was predeceased by her parents, Stanley and Xanthipi Kourkouzi, her beloved husband, George Archoleka, and her 7 dear siblings.  Sofia is survived by her loving daughter, Renee Archoleka, her devoted son, Gianni Archolekas, and her cherished grandchildren, Yanni Christopoulos, Joseph Archolekas, and George Archolekas.  She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday evening, March 29, 2018 from 4:30 to 8:30 PM and Friday morning, March 30, 2018 from 8:15 to 9:00 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A Funeral Liturgy will be offered on Friday morning, March 30, 2018 at 9:30 AM at Kimisis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church, 20 Hillcrest Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733.  Interment will follow at Fair View Cemetery, 456 State Highway/Route 35 South, Middletown, New Jersey 07701.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
