Samuel J. Rittenband, 89, of Port Monmouth, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Regency Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hazlet. Samuel was bron on November 19, 1928 in Brooklyn, New York, where he grew up. On January 7, 1950 he and his wife, Ruth, were married and began their lives together. In 1959, they relocated to Staten Island, New York and in 1963, they settled in Matawan, New Jersey with their family. They were currently residing in Port Monmouth, New Jersey.
He was predeceased by his parents, Murray and Molly (Hirschenfang) Rittenband. Samuel is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 68 years, Ruth V. (Lindenbaum) Rittenband, his loving daughters, Terry Rothman and her husband, Barry, of Old Bridge, New Jersey, and Lori Anderson-Murray and her husband, Bruce, of Toronto, Canada, his dear brother, Elliot Rittenband and his wife, Lynn, and his cherished granddaughters, Stacey Rothman and Jill Lemanski and her husband, Thomas, along with his adored great grandchildren, Jenna Ortiz, Alexa Lemanski, Taylor Lemanski, Jordan Martinez, and Jocelyn Martinez. Samuel will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. In respect of Samuel's wishes, he was privately cremated. Samuel's cremated remains will be laid to rest on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Floral Park Cemetery, 104 Deans Rhode Road, Monmouth Junction, New Jersey 08852.
