Robert "Bob" Zwingraf

Robert J. Zwingraf, fondly known as Bob, 66, of Keyport, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, November 30, 2018 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel.  Robert was born on February 26, 1952 in Staten Island, New York, where he grew up.  He was a graduate of Tottenville High School, Class of 1970.  On October 20, 1979, Bob and his wife, Mary, were married in Staten Island and started their lives together in Keyport, New Jersey.  Bob worked for the New York City Transit Authority in the city's subways as a track worker and inspector for 29 years, retiring as a part of the Authority's Emergency Response Team in 2007.  Bob was also a past member of the Keyport Planning Board.  He enjoyed watching golf and was a lover of garage sales and flea markets.  Bob was an avid "Do-it-yourselfer" and was always willing to lend a helping hand to his friends and family.  Above all else, home and family were of the utmost importance to Bob.  He was a loving son, husband, father, brother and friend who was loved by all who knew him.

He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Florence (McKinley) Zwingraf and his sister-in-law, Betty.  Bob is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 39 years, Mary "Gene" (Schron) Zwingraf, his loving son, Matthew Zwingraf of Keyport, New Jersey, his dear brothers, Frank Zwingraf and his wife, Elaine, of Staten Island, New York, Raymond Zwingraf of Monroe, New Jersey, and Joseph Zwingraf and his wife, Sue of Oregon, along with his cherished sister-in-law, Judy Schron and many adoring nieces, nephews, and friends.  Bob will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Wednesday morning, December 5, 2018 from 8:15 to 9:00 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday morning, December 5, 2018 at 9:30 AM at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 727 Highway 36, Union Beach, New Jersey 07735.  In respect of Bob's wishes, he will be privately cremated.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
