Robert L. Lafranchise, 82, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Anchor Care Rehabilitation in Hazlet, New Jersey. Robert was born on October 10, 1936 in Newark, New Jersey, where he grew up. He lived in the Kearny and Elizabeth area as well. In 2000, he retired and moved to Cheesequake Village in Matawan. Before retirement, Robert was a truck driver and warehouse worker for Emery Air Freight in Newark, New Jersey.
He was predeceased by his parents, Lucien and Margaret (Doyle) LaFranchise, his loving sisters, Peggy Masker and Marie Hoffman and his dear brother-in-law, Tom Gillette. Robert is survived by his beloved siblings, Jean D. Lafranchise of Cliffwood, New Jersey, Mary Roland Gillette of Newark, Delaware and Lucy Myslenski and her husband, John of Toms River, New Jersey. He is also survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Robert will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, February 8, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturday morning, February 9, 2019 from 8:30 AM to 9:15 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 AM at St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, 109 Laurence Parkway, Laurence Harbor, NJ 08879.
