Philip Vallone, 86, of Staten Island, New York, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, July 12, 2018. Philip was born on December 31, 1931 in Manhattan, New York, where he grew up. On February 11, 1956, Philip married his childhood sweetheart, Susan, and they began their life together in Brooklyn, New York, where they raised their family. Recently, Philip and Susan settled in Staten Island, New York. Before retirement, Philip worked for the New York City Board of Education as a School Bus Driver and he was also a proud United States Army Veteran, having served our country during the Korean War. He was an avid sports fan and especially loved the New York Mets, but most of all, Philip was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who adored spending time with his beloved family.
He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Rose (Manolio) Vallone, three sisters, two brothers, his brothers-in-law, Adam LaBarbera and Philip Albanese, and his sister-in-law, Marie LaBarbera. Philip is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 62 years, Susan (Randazzo) Vallone, his loving daughters, Susan and Lori, his sons-in-law, Ralph and Thomas, and his 4 dear brothers. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Ralphie, Jessica, Isabella, and Matthew, along with his sister-in-law, Rose Albanese, and many adoring nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Philip will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 2:00 to 7:00 PM and Monday morning, July 16, 2018 from 8:00 to 8:30 AM at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, 28 Eltingville Road, Staten Island, New York 10312. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday morning, July 16, 2018 at 9:30 AM at Holy Rosary Church, 80 Jerome Avenue, Staten Island, New York 10305. Entombment will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 2030 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, New York 11735.
