Marie (Randazzo) LaBarbera

    Marie "Mary" LaBarbera, 89, of Staten Island, New York, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Clove Lakes Nursing Home in Staten Island, New York. She was born Marie Randazzo on May 4, 1928 in Manhattan, New York, where she was raised. On October 15, 1949, she married her husband, Adam LaBarbera at the Nativity Church in New York City, where they began their life together.  A few years later, they moved to Brooklyn, New York, where they raised their family.  In 2000, they settled in Staten Island, New York.  Marie was a loving wife and mother, who was known for her amazing cooking.  To her loving  family, she was known as "the best cook and baker in the world."  

    She was predeceased by her parents, Calogero "Charles" and Jennie (Sciascia) Randazzo  and her devoted husband, Adam LaBarbera.  Marie is survived by her beloved children, Rosemary LaBarbera of Staten Island, New York and Charles LaBarbera and his wife, Samise, of Staten Island, New York, and her dear sisters, Rose Albanese of Staten Island, New York and Susan Vallone and her husband, Phil, of Brooklyn, New York.  Marie is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Catherine and Sean LaBarbera, along with many adored nieces, nephews and extended family members.  She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

    Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday evening, August 2, 2017 from  4:00 to 8:00 PM and Thursday morning, August 3, 2017 from 9:45 to 10:30 AM at the John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Boulevard, Staten Island, New York 10312.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday morning, August 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 5411 Amboy Road, Staten Island, New York.  Entombment will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park, 2030 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, New York 11735.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
