Karen M. Kiely

Karen M. Kiely, 67, of Union Beach, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, February 22, 2019 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, New Jersey.  Karen was born on March 18, 1951 in Hoboken, New Jersey, where she grew up.  Later in life she moved to Boston, Massachusetts, where she began her family and lived for 15 years, before settling in Union Beach, New Jersey in 1985.  Before retirement, Karen worked as an Executive Assistant for a telecommunications company for many years.  Karen was an eternal optimist and extremely proud of her Irish Heritage throughout her life.  She also loved spending time at the beach and was an avid New England Patriot's fan.  Most of all, Karen was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother.

She was predeceased by her parents, Daniel Patrick and Veronica Theresa (Crimmins) Kiely and her beloved son, Mark Lenahan.  Karen is survived by her loving children, Joshua Lenahan of Union Beach, New Jersey, Kiely Lenahan and his wife, Michele, of Mountainside, New Jersey, and Mary Rita Distaulo and her husband, Joseph, of Union Beach, New Jersey.  She is also survived by her dear siblings, Kevin, Mary, and Martin Kiely, and her cherished grandchildren, Aubreyella, Cadence and Liam Distaulo.  Karen will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
