Josephine Libecci, 85, of Holmdel, New Jersey, passed away suddenly surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel. She was born Josephine Battaglia on August 10, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York, where she grew up. In 1967, Josephine and her husband, Joseph, relocated to Staten Island, New York, where they raised their family. In 1998, they ultimately settled in Holmdel, New Jersey.
She was predeceased by her parents, Vincent and Emilia (Rocco) Battaglia, her beloved husband, Joseph A. Libecci, her dear sister, Lola Meluso, and her daughter-in-law, Beth Libecci. Josephine is survived by her loving children, Frances Rizzo and her husband, Joseph, of Middletown, New Jersey, Mark Libecci and his wife, Cathy, of Saratoga Springs, New York, Joseph Libecci and his wife, Angela, of Middletown, New Jersey, and Michael Libecci of Wilton, New York, and her cherished grandchildren, Melanie Rizzo, Christa, Samantha, Jenna, Michael, Sophia, and Kate Libecci. Josephine will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. In respect of Josephine's wishes, she will be privately cremated. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 9:15 AM at St. Catharine Roman Catholic Church, 108 Middletown Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733. Entombment of Josephine's cremains will follow at Holmdel Cemetery Mausoleum, 900 Holmdel Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733.
