April 18, 1936 ~ August 4, 2017 (age 81) 81 Years OldJohn F. White, fondly known as "Jack", 81, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on August 4, 2017 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, New Jersey. Jack was born on April 18, 1936 in Richmond, Virginia, and grew up in West Orange, New Jersey. On August 9, 1966, Jack and his wife, Susan, were married and began their life together in West Orange. In 1970, they settled in Hazlet to raise their family. Prior to retirement, Jack worked as the Warehouse Supervisor for New Jersey Office Supply. He was also a proud United States Army Veteran, having served our country during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion in Keyport, New Jersey, as well as the Elks Club of Middletown, New Jersey. Jack adored all animals, especially his two beloved dogs, Dakota, who was his co-pilot, and his late dog, Clippy.
He was predeceased by his parents, Helen and John F. White, and his two sisters, Donna and Sandra. Jack is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 51 years, Susan (Burker) White, and his loving children, John F. White Jr., and his wife, Diana, of Manasquan, New Jersey, Lisa Miyakawa and her husband, Adam, of Hazlet, New Jersey, and Dr. Denise Fog and her husband, Dr. Ted Fog, of Medford, New Jersey. Jack is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Lindsay White, Colin White, Noah Miyakawa, Kai Miyakawa, Alec Fog, and Abby Fog. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday evening, August 7, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. Military Honors will be presented during the visitation hours at approximately 7:00 PM. In respect of Jack's wishes, he will be privately cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Jack to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org, or the Monmouth County SPCA, www.monmouthcountyspca.org, would be greatly appreciated.
