Helen V. Stellingwerf, 69, of Middletown, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at CareOne at King James, Navesink/Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey. She was born Helen V. Harmata on November 19, 1948 in Perth Amboy New Jersey where she grew up, before moving to Hazlet, New Jersey in 1964. Helen worked for the Aramark Corporation, Edison, New Jersey as a Customer Service Representative before retirement.
She was predeceased by her parents, Theodore J. and Helen Ruth (Komentch) Harmata. Helen is survived by her loving children, Kelly Trivett and her husband, Kevin, of Middletown, New Jersey, Shannon Hamilton and her husband, Glenn, of Tewksbury, New Jersey, Scott Stellingwerf and his wife, Stephanie of Old Bridge, New Jersey, and Erin Handschin and her husband, George, of Wayne, New Jersey. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Scott Stellingwerf Jr., John Stellingwerf, Maci (JuJu) Stellingwerf, Faith Hamilton, Elizabeth Hamilton, Jake Handschin, Dakota Handschin, and Tyler Handschin. Helen will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday afternoon, May 20, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and Monday morning, May 21, 2018 from 8:00 to 8:45 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday morning, May 21, 2018 at 9:30 AM at St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, 109 Laurence Parkway, Laurence Harbor, New Jersey 08879.
