Helen E. (Argento) Garda

Helen E. Garda, 86, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel.  She was born Helen Argento on November 1, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York, where she grew up.  In 1956, Helen settled in Hazlet, New Jersey, where she raised her family.  On November 3, 1979, Helen and her husband,  Richard, were married and began their life together. Before retirement, Helen worked as an Administrator for Hazlet Township for many years.

She was predeceased by her parents, Helen (Moore) and Salvatore Argento and her sister, Dolores Norton.  Helen is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, Richard J. Garda, her loving children, Steven G. Hansen and his wife, Linda of Tabernacle, New Jersey, Eric G. Hansen and his wife, Pattyann, of Jackson, New Jersey, Lisa M. Cancel and her husband, Jorge, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, Lorraine J. Strouse  and her husband Glenn of Northampton, Pennsylvania, Beth-Ann Norman and her husband, John, of Naperville, Illinois, and Patricia Fey and her husband, Gerard, of Naperville, Illinois, along with her 18 cherished grandchildren and 4 adored great grandchildren.  Helen will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

In respect of Helen's wishes, she will be privately cremated.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday morning, January 9, 2020 at 10:00 AM at St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733.  Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation following the Mass on Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  Helen's cremains will be entombed at St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum, 360 Broadway, Keyport, New Jersey 07735.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
