Gloria Pavone, age 93, of Brooklyn, New York, entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 6, 2019. She was born Gloria Pluchino on April 13, 1926 in Brooklyn, New York. Gloria, though not a licensed funeral director, worked side by side with her husband, John , for many years in the funeral profession and was instrumental in founding many funeral establishments, but most proud of Marine Park Funeral Home, Inc (established 1980). She will be reunited with her beloved husband, John J. Pavone, Sr., on the morning of her funeral services, December 9, 2019, their 69th wedding anniversary.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John J. Pavone, Sr. (Licensed Funeral Director) (January 9, 1985) , her loving parents, Michael and Rose (Cappello) Pluchino, her brother, Eufemius "Fifi" Pluchino, and her dear sisters-in-law and friends, Edith (Brett) Pluchino, and Rose (Annuziata) Pluchino. Gloria was a loving mother of Leon M. Pavone, John J. Pavone, Jr. (Susan) and Michael A. Pavone (Camille), dear sister of Robert Anthony "Bobby" Pluchino, and cherished grandmother of Kristin, Victoria, Angelica Rose, Briana, Nora, Alexandra and Olivia, and great grandmother of A.J., Giana, Demi and Teagan Rose. Gloria will be sadly missed and forever in our hearts.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, December 8 from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home, 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn, New York, 11234.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:45 AM on Monday morning, December 9th at St. Bernard R.C. Church, 2055 E 69th St, Brooklyn, New York 11234 with Fr. Michael G. Tedone officiating.
Interment will follow immediately at the family plot in Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, New York.
