Garret Pierce Bump, 62, of Toms River, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, May 25, 2019. Garret was born on August 13, 1956 in Bridgeport, Connecticut and grew up in Hazlet, New Jersey. As a child, he attended Beer Street Elementary School and was a graduate of Raritan High School. After high school, Garret received his Bachelor's Degree from Monmouth University. On September 13, 1992, Garret and his wife, Lori, were married and began their lives together in Hazlet. Shortly after, they settled in Middletown, New Jersey, until recently moving to Toms River this past January. Before retirement, Garret worked for Merrill Lynch in Jersey City for over 30 years.
He was predeceased by his father, Judson Craft Bump. Garret is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 26 years, Lori Ann (Kitzman) Bump, his adoring mother, Mary Ellen Bump, and his dear sister, Ellen Bump. Garret also leaves behind his cherished poodle, Ginger and many extended family members and friends. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
In respect of Garret's wishes, he will be privately cremated. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Friday evening, May 31, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A prayer service will be offered during visitation hours.
