Felicia D. Gulachenski, 62, of Hazlet passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, November 13th, 2018 at Bayshore Community Hospital. Felicia was born in Providence, Rhode Island, and grew up in Holden, Massachusetts, where she remained until leaving for college, attending the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. After college, Felicia moved to New York to start her career and finally settled in Hazlet in 1986. She was a teacher at Beer Street School in Hazlet for many years and was also a HAM Radio operator for over 20 years using the handle “KB2WIM.” Above all else, Felicia was a beloved wife and devoted mother who will be missed but all who knew and loved her.
Felicia is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Genevieve Gulachenski. She is survived by her loving husband John Cardillo, her adoring daughter Julia Cardillo of Hazlet, her dear brother Joseph Gulachenski and his wife, Kim Tran, of Rancho Santa Marganta, California, and her cherished sister Andrea Goodrich of Acton, Massachusetts. She is also survived by her treasured nieces and nephews Todd Goodrich, Shane Goodrich, Justin Gulachenski, Alan Leidner, Karen Ovalles, and Steven Leidner, her special great niece Jade Ansell, her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Patricia and Charles Leidner of Bellrose, New York, and Kathleen and Eliot Tuckerman, of Daniel Island, South Carolina.
In respect of Felicia's wishes, she will be privately cremated. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A prayer service will be offered during visitation hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Felicia to the F. Gulachenski Memorial Fund to help aid local music students of Hazlet would be greatly appreciated. Information on memorial fund and donation location will be announced shortly.
