Eugene D. Balestriere

 Eugene D. Balestriere, 89, of Keyport, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 15, 2017 at his residence in Keport, New Jersey. Eugene was born on March 2, 1928 in Orange, New Jersey, were he grew up, moving to Hazlet in 1957 and then settling in Keyport about 4 years ago. He was a Navy veteran serving in WW II. Eugene was a Construction Official for the Township of Hazlet before retiring.  

     He was predeceased by his parents, Francesco and Theresa (Tonnizzo) Balestriere, his first wife, Anna (Donadio) Balestriere, his 3 sisters and his 2 brothers. Eugene is survived by his devoted wife of 20 years, Janice (Stow) Balestriere of Keyport, New Jersey, his loving children, Linda McKeown and her husband, Ronald of East Brunswick, New Jersey, Eugene Balestriere and his wife, Ellen of Florida, Sandy Cittadino of Eatontown, New Jersey and 4 step-children. Eugene is also survived by his 3 sisters, 5 grandchildren, Eugene, Annmarie, Jimmy, Christine and Alexandra, as well as 11 step-grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren. Eugene will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.    

Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, May 22, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A prayer service will be offered on Monday evening, May 22, 2017  during the visitation hours by Pastor Barry Mulligan from the Hazlet Bible Church in Hazlet, New Jersey. There will be a memorial gathering on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the Hazlet Bible Church, 665 Holmdel Road, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. In respect of Eugene's wishes, he will be privately cremated.
