Emily R. (Reek) Evans

Emily R. Evans, 101, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, New Jersey.  She was born Emily R. Reek on April 28, 1918 in Brooklyn, New York, where she grew up and lived for the majority of her life.  While living in Brooklyn, Emily worked for the New York City Board of Education, as well as the Provincial House and the School Art League.  In 1984, she settled in Hazlet, New Jersey.  Emily enjoyed a reading a good book in her spare time.  She also loved music and antiques.

She was predeceased by her parents, John and Hannah (Kick) Reek, her beloved husband, Edward Evans, her dear sons, Edward and John Evans, and her grandson, John Evans Jr.  Emily is survived by her loving son, Captain Robert J. Evans and his wife, Maria, of Hazlet, New Jersey, her daughters-in-law, Dorothy and Ruth Evans, her cherished grandchildren, Michael J. Evans, Danielle M. Caso, Suzanne Isbell, Derek Evans, Douglas Evans, Timothy Evans, Daniel Evans, and Kathleen, along with her 12 adored great grandchildren and 3 treasured great-great grandchildren.  Emily will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
