Elizabeth A. Donovan, fondly known as Anne, 73, of Aberdeen, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, November 27, 2018. She was born Elizabeth A. Galia on December 27, 1944 in Eddystone, Pennsylvania. On December 2, 1967 Elizabeth and her husband, Edmund, were married and began their lives together. They originally settled in Wallingford, Pennsylvania before moving to New Jersey. Elizabeth was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, where she served as a nurse. After serving her time in the Navy, Elizabeth continued her career as an emergency room nurse. Elizabeth was a nurse for over 50 years serving the last 30 years, at Bayshore Community Hospital.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents, Mary Louise (Sutton) and Joseph Henry Galia, her beloved husband, Edmund M. Donovan, Jr., and her dear son, Edmund M. Donovan, III. She is survived by her loving children, Robert Donovan and his wife, Terra of Littleton, Colorado, Frederick Donovan and his wife, Kartina of Freehold, New Jersey, and Joseph Donovan, and his fiancé, Kelly Almeida of Aberdeen, New Jersey, her daughter-in-law, Valerie Donovan, her and her dear siblings, Thomas Galia, James Galia and his wife, Meg, Robert Galia, John Galia and his wife, Mary, Susan Zerbe and her husband, Malcolm, and Joseph Galia, along with her cherished grandchildren, Emily, Sean, Sophia, Andrew and Sarah. Elizabeth will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, November 30, 2018, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Saturday morning, December 1, 2018 from 9:45 Am to 10:30 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey, 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733. Interment will take place at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown New Jersey on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 12:30 PM.
