Edward Possumato

Edward Possumato, 71, of Toms River, New Jersey, passed away at home on Saturday, October 6, 2018.  Edward was born on January 16, 1947 in Newark, New Jersey, where he grew up.  Edward lived in Newark into his early adulthood, before settling in the Matawan/Old Bridge area, where he resided for about 20 years.  Ten years ago, he retired to Toms River, New Jersey.   Before retirement, Edward worked as a Tax Accountant for his own company, Platinum Tax Services.  Edward was also an avid Rutgers Football fan, a lover of all things chocolate and Scotch, and most of all, a beloved father and grandfather.

He was predeceased by his parents, James and Mary (Mack) Possumato and his dear brothers, Richard and John Possumato.  Edward is survived by his loving children, Erica Palma of Middletown, New Jersey, and Jason Possumato and his husband, John Cora, of New York, New York, his previous wife, Andrea DeSciora of Washington Township, New Jersey, his cherished granddaughter, Sophia Possumato, and his very dear friend, Adrienne Kubicz of Union, New Jersey, along with many adored nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.  Edward will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM and Thursday morning, October 11, 2018 from 8:00 to 8:45 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc, 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday morning, October 11, 2018 at 9:30 AM at The Church of St. Catherine of Laboure, 115 Bray Avenue, North Middletown, New Jersey 07748.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, New Jersey.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
