Daniel F. Coakley, 80, of Toms River, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Magnolia Gardens in Toms River, New Jersey. Daniel was born on January 26,1938 in County Cork Ireland. In 1958 he moved to the United States and settled in Elizabeth, New Jersey. In 1961 he moved to Hazlet, New Jersey where he and his wife, Bridget raised their family. In 2001 they retired in Toms River, New Jersey. He was a coach for the Hazlet Youth Soccer League and a member of the Holy Name Society at Holy Family RC Church in Union Beach, New Jersey.
He was predeceased by his parents, James and Ellen (Leahy) Coakley and his beloved wife, Bridget (O’Mullane) Coakley. Daniel is survived by his loving children, John J. Coakley and his wife, Elizabeth of Tinton Falls, New Jersey and Robert F. Coakley and his wife, Pamela of Harrisburg, PA. Daniel also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Megan, Alyssa, Mitchell and Matthew. Daniel will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, July 29, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Monday morning from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, July 30, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family RC Church, 727 NJ-36, Union Beach, NJ 07735.
