Beatrice J. Tracy, 88, of Middletown, New Jersey, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2019. She was born Beatrice Sangi on August 8, 1931 in Newark, New Jersey and grew up in Lyndhurst, New Jersey. After marriage, Beatrice and her husband, Jack, raised their family in North Arlington and Seaside Park, New Jersey. She moved to Bay Head in 1988 and 2 years ago settled in Middletown, New Jersey. She was a retired teacher and guidance counselor at Lyndhurst High School and Toms River South High School. Beatrice received her Associate’s Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University, her Bachelor of Science degree from Monmouth University and her Master in Education from Rutgers University. Bea loved to travel. She has been to Russia, Europe, China, Scandinavia, South America, many cruises all over the world and she made multiple trips to Hawaii every year.
She was predeceased by her parents, Sam and Kathryn (Carella) Sangi and her beloved husband Jack Tracy, and after Jack passed away, her high school classmate and companion, Robert Baxter. Beatrice is survived by her loving children, Jack Tracy and his wife Moira of Holmdel, New Jersey and Terry Lum and her husband Kurt of Waialua, Hawaii, her cherished grandchildren, Dr. Katie Jane Newton, Nikolas Lum, Jocelyn Tracy, Kevin Tracy, Allison Tracy and Sean Lum. She also leaves behind her caring step granddaughter Christine Bennett, and her great grandchildren, Taylor Bea Newton, Ryland Tracy Newton and Connor Zachary Newton. She is also survived by many cousins and extended family. Beatrice will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Family and friend are invited to visit on Friday, January 3, 2020 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. There will be a service at the funeral home on Friday during the visiting hours. In respect of her wishes, Beatrice will be privately cremated.
