Barry V. Hancock, 82, of Matawan, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home on Wednesday morning, June 5, 2019. Barry was born on March 5, 1937 in Birmingham, England, where he grew up. At 21 years, Barry moved to the United States in hopes of a brighter future. He settled in Union Beach to raise his family where he remained until moving to Matawan approximately 30 years ago. Before retirement, Barry owned his own Sheet Rocking company for many years. He was also a member of the Middletown Elks and the Knights of Columbus.
He was predeceased by his parents, William and Elizabeth (Churchill) Hancock, his beloved wife, Lucille Hancock, and his dear son, Barry Hancock. Barry is survived by his loving children, Flair Cahill and her husband, Phil Ganz, of Union Beach, Tracy Mills and her husband, James, of Bradenton, Florida, and Nicole Hancock of Rochester, New York, his adoring step-children, Doreen Barker and her husband, Kevin, and David Knoeller and his wife, Debbie, his cherished grandchildren, Ryan, Trevor, Dylan, Jessica, Taylor, Alex, Christopher, Ryan, Shannon, Kevin, John, Brian, Brendan, Preston, and Doreen "Honey", along with his previous wife, Patricia Hancock. Barry will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday morning, June 7, 2019 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. Interment will follow at approximately 12:30 PM at St. Joseph Cemetery, 360 Broadway, Keyport, New Jersey 07735.
