Anthony “Whitey” Bencivenga, 76, of Holmdel, passed away Friday, April 26, 2019 at Bayshore Hospital. Whitey was born on November 23, 1942 in Hoboken, where he grew up. In 1974, he moved to San Diego California and returned to the Bayshore Area in 1984. Whitey then lived in Keansburg and afterward settled in Holmdel, New Jersey. Whitey went to The School of Hard Knocks and earned his Ph.D on the streets. He graduated the top of his class. Whitey loved fishing for bass in the Raritan Bay and being with his family.
He was predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Jean (Vignola) Bencivenga. Whitey is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 56 years, Elizabeth (Brown) Bencivenga, his loving children, Kim Vignola and her wife Amy, of Holmdel, New Jersey, Danny Vignola and his wife Antoinette, of Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, Stacey Bencivenga of Holmdel, New Jersey, Jeanine Donaldson and her husband Jim, of Egg Harbor, New Jersey, and Anthony Bencivenga and his wife Jamie, of Marlboro, New Jersey, and his dear sister, Carol Ferrante and her husband John. of Damascus, Pennsylvania. Whitey is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Michael Vignola, Amanda Webberson, Daniel Vignola, Julia Bencivenga, Massimo Vignola, Lily Bencivenga, Max Bencivenga, and Kylie Bencivenga, his adored great grandson, Mason Vignola, and his nephews, John and Gregory with their families. Whitey will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A prayer service will be offered at the funeral home toward the end period of the visitation hours. In respect of Whitey's wishes, he will be privately cremated.
