Allan Stewart Obituary

Allan Stewart, 88, of Whiting, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and children, after a wonderful life together.  Allan was born on July 10, 1930 in Greenock, Scotland, where he grew up and lived into his early adulthood.  Allan and his wife, Sarah, were married on February 6, 1951 and began their lives together in Scotland.  A few years later in 1959 they relocated to the United States, settling in Elizabeth, New Jersey.  They also lived in Woodbridge and Dunedin, Florida, before settling in Whiting, New Jersey in 2004.  Throughout his life, Allan was a wonderful artist and worked as a self-employed specialty artistic painter and decorator.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend to many.

Allan loved to dance and help put on shows with his great grandchildren, AJ, Danicka, and Audriana.  He also enjoyed magic tricks with AJ, his dance performances as "Emcee" for Danicka, and his hours spent coloring with his budding artist, Audriana.  Together they were the best marching band the world as ever known!

He loved all of his nieces and nephews, and was a Godfather to many.  He enjoyed spending time with his niece and nephew, Josephine and Vinnie, who would take him and Mom (Sarah) on little excursions and go out to have a bite to eat.  He also loved his friends and neighbors from Scotland, Elizabeth, Whiting, and Lake Highlander, but most of all he loved his adoring wife of 67 years, Sarah.  They traveled the world over and have lots of memorable stories to last a lifetime.

He was predeceased by his parents, Allan and Alice (Doherty) Stewart, his loving son, Gerard James Stewart, and his dear siblings, Alice Morrison and James Stewart.  Allan is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 67 years, Sarah (Lynch) Stewart, his loving children, Allan Stewart and his fiance, Diane, of Dunedin, Florida, and Caroline Malley and her husband, Ken, of Hazlet, New Jersey, his dear daughter-in-law, Kim Stewart, and his adored siblings, Margaret McGillivray and Norah Scholte.  Allan is also survived by his very special niece and nephew, Josephine and Vinnie DeDominicis, his cherished grandchildren, Allan Stewart, Kenneth Stewart, Robert Stewart, Kristenlacey Fike and her husband Aaron, Heather Lyczkowski, Brittany Blackmore and her husband Tyler, and Kimberly Sowder, along with his 12 treasured great grandchildren, especially AJ, Danicka, and Audriana Sadie, with whom he spent a lot of special times with.  Allan will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
