Alfred R. Freddo

Alfred R. Freddo, 68, Spring Lake Heights, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, June 28, 2019.  Alfred was born on September 17, 1950 in Brooklyn, New York, where he grew up.  After marriage, he and his wife, Dorothy, began their lives together in Brooklyn, before settling in Spring Lake Heights, New Jersey in 1985 where they raised their family.  Alfred loved to travel and most of all adored his family, especially his grandchildren.  He made sure he never missed any of his children or grandchildren's events.  All who knew him knew that Alfred was a generous man who would give you the shirt off his back and he had an open door policy in his home. Alfred was always there for everyone he loved. 

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Anna (Aversa) Freddo, his beloved wife, Dorothy (Dunne) Freddo, and his dear sister, Joyce Ann Freddo.  Alfred is survived by his loving children, Barbie Basile and her husband, Duane, of Hazlet, New Jersey, Joann Freddo-Espada and her husband, Juan, of Matawan, New Jersey, Brian Freddo of Brooklyn, New York, Chrissy Freddo of Spring Lake Heights, New Jersey, and Danny Freddo of Spring Lake Heights, New Jersey, his dear sister, Michele Freddo, and his cherished grandchildren, Taylor Basile, Ryan Basile, Alexa Basile, Andrew Espada and Benjamin Espada.  Al also leaves behind his close sisters and brothers in law who were true family to him since childhood and many nieces and nephews.  Alfred will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, July 1, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Tuesday morning, July 2, 2019 from 8:30 to 9:15 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday morning, July 2, 2019 at 10:30 AM at St. Catharine Church, 215 Essex Avenue, Spring Lake, New Jersey 07762.  Entombment will follow at St. Catherine - St. Anne Cemetery, 1610 Allenwood Road, Wall Township, New Jersey 07719.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
