Alexander J. Buonomo, 76, of Homldel, New Jersey, passed away Saturday, November 24th, 2018 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, New Jersey. Alexander was born on May 10th, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in the Green Point section of Brooklyn. After marriage he started life in Ozone Park, Queens. He raised his family in Staten Island and about 14 years ago he settled in New Jersey. He worked as a truck driver with Local #282 for many years before retiring.
Alexander was predeceased by his parents, Marcelino “Whitey” and Catherine (Congro) Buonomo, his beloved wife, Kathleen Buonomo, his brother, Angelo Buonomo, and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Louis and Joan Merensky, John Merensky, Tom Cronin and Marie Merensky. He is survived by his loving children, Kathy Palestra and her husband, Rob of Holmdel, New Jersey and Louis Buonomo and his wife, Melanie of Marlboro, New Jersey, his dear siblings, Mildred Buonomo and Patrick Buonomo and his wife Gertrude, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joni Cempa and her husband, Paul, Arlene Cronin, Michael Merensky and his wife, Jackie, and Linda Merensky, along with his cherished grandchildren, Olivia Buonomo, Rebecca Buonomo and Jonathan Palestra. Alexander will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, November 26th 2018, from 5:00 to 9:00 PM and Tuesday morning, November 27th, from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey, 07730. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:15 AM at the Church of St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church located at 50 Hurleys Lane, Lincroft, New Jersey 07738. In respect to Alexander’s wishes, he will be privately cremated.
